Decorating with Crystals

Crystals, once dismissed as hippy dippy nonsense, can be more than just bohemian decorations or fashion accessories for someone who wants to believe in the good vibrations associated with them.

Google searches for “crystals” and “healing crystals,” specifically, have slowly climbed over the past five years, hitting its peak in 2017—around the time several news outlets, including the New York Times, dropped big stories digging into the trend

We are living through a period of almost unprecedented political, military, economic and environmental uncertainty at the moment, so it’s not surprising that people are drawn to anything that might provide comfort.

Room by Room Decorating Guide

Crystals are beautiful, so placing one just about anywhere will boost your space’s ambiance and good vibes. But if you’re using crystals in your home for healing purposes, it’s good to place them around your home intentionally, so that their energy can support you in various environments.

For The Office: Amethyst

The one thing that is constant in all work environments, regardless of occupation, is that everyone wants their work to bring them prosperity and joy. An Amethyst cluster is a good choice for the office. Amethyst is very relaxing, clarifying, spiritual, and great for opening your mind. And, since a cluster has so many different points, it’s also great for an office with other people—it will send positive energy to everyone in the room.

Even if you don’t necessarily feel the crystal’s energy, it has a subtle, underlying magic that’s always working. So every time you look at the crystal, you’ll remember that you bought it to clear your mind and focus!

For The Bathroom:  Clear Quartz

The bathroom is a place of cleansing, and as the primary cleansing stone, Clear Quartz is a perfect asset to this space. By connecting with Clear Quartz, you can purify your spirit as you cleanse your body. Have it by the shower or bath to enhance the energy of cleansing.

Clear Quartz is an amplifier, and works to magnify the energy of your spirit. You do need to think of placement, since that would make the distinction of whether you’re amplifying the bathtub or toilet.

Other options include blue Lapis Lazuli crystal to promote bonding; Bloodstone for abundance, health, vitality, and good digestion;  Citrine for activating the appetite ; or add a dash of nurturing energy with Rose Quartz.

For the Living Room: Selenite

Also known as Satin Spar. In the home, Selenite works hard to keep the area clear of blocked, harmful or negative energy. Selenite raises the vibration of your space and brings in more light.

Selenite is great to decorate with because it can be found in large tubular pieces.

Even if you are a non-believer or think it’s just a placebo effect, decorating with crystals you are drawn to can lead to creating a space you are more comfortable and productive in.
