Benjamin Moore Color of the Year 2017

“Allusive and enigmatic, Shadow is a master of ambiance. It is a color that calls to mind a ‘past,’ yet it can also make a contemporary, color-confident statement,” –Ellen O’Neill, Benjamin Moore’s creative director

A major influencer of this year’s color selection was Fine art – highlighting the correlation between an artist’s use of color and light to create mood.

Surprisingly Shadow has enough grey in it that it dramatically can shift in appearance. This rich, royal amethyst can fade into the soft lilac-grey of distant mountains or morph into lustrous coal.

A deep, mysterious purple. More than just dark, it’s exciting and invigorating in its sense of drama.

The key to using darker hues is selectivity. Adding color to your Range is a great way to make a statement without overwhelming your kitchen.
